Building and Grounds
Ensures the preservation, maintenance and improvement of the facilities and grounds of the historic Salem Athenaeum.

Collections
Assists the Executive Director in the care of the Athenaeum’s books, manuscripts, prints, photographs, artwork, and archival records.

Cultural Programming Committee
Designs, implements, and promotes high quality education and enrichment programming for the North Shore influenced by the collections and history of the Salem Athenaeum.

Finance
Ensures the short and long term financial health of the Athenaeum and its assets.

Governance, Nominating and Executive Committees
Ensures a highly effective Board of Trustees that makes the ethical and strategic decisions necessary to fulfill the mission of the Salem Athenaeum.

Organizes and hosts an annual literary festival weekend committed to celebrating literature in all forms, honoring Salem’s own literary heritage, and fostering the next generation of readers and writers.
